Renting a Cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia

This is a great way to spend time on a vacation or a quick getaway. Blue Ridge is located only 90 miles from downtown Atlanta and is an easy drive on a four-lane highway. Cabin rentals range in size from two bedrooms to four bedrooms, and they range in price from $125.00 and up. You may choose a luxurious cabin boasting great mountain views over the Blue Ridge Mountains, or you may choose a classic waterfront retreats overlooking one of many area trout streams. Most cabins offer outdoor hot tubs that are always cleaned prior to each new guest’s stay. Some Blue Ridge mountain cabins offer game rooms with pool tables or video games.

The Blue Ridge area offers great restaurants for fine country dining, and a unique downtown district that is perfect for finding antiques or local handcrafted items. In addition to the Ocoee River, Fannin County’s other two rivers – the Chattahoochee River and the Toccoa River – also are located within 10 to 15 minutes of Blue Ridge. A Vacation in Martinique or Guadeloupe, two French Overseas Territories

Martinique is one of the Lesser Antilles (Windward Islands). It is a French overseas “département”. A département   is more or less the French version of a province. The island has an area of 427 sq miles or 1108 sq km and a population of 411,000. the capital of Martinique is Fort-de-France.

The language spoken on Martinique is French. Another name for this beautiful  island is “Island of Flowers”. It is famous for its tropical flowers, especially lilies, bougainvilleas and orchids. With this profusion of flowers, coconut palms, tree fern, banana trees, blue seas, ever present sunshine and fine beaches it has everything a paradise should have.Martinique is also the place for swimming, snorkelling, sailing, scuba-diving, wind-surfing and every other water of land sport. The island has a wide variety of accommodations in every price range. The number of restaurants is endless. Some large hotels have a casino and/or a nightclub. Shopping can be done all over the island.

Guadeloupe is one of the Lesser Antilles (Windward Islands) and  one of the French overseas territories in the region. Its total area is 583 sq miles (1510 sq km) and it has a population of  335,000. Guadeloupe is the largest French West Indian island, that is actually two islands: Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre, separated by the narrow bridged strait of the river Salée. The west-part of Guadeloupe, Basse-Terre, is mountainous with a volcano at its centre, and the east-part, Grande-Terre, is actually smaller and utterly flat by contrast.Guadeloupe has excellent beaches, small coves and reefs offshore. Ste-Anne has the finest white sand and crystal clear water at a constant depth of 1.5 m far from shore. It’s great for swimming, playing with the children and scuba-diving. Sailing is also a popular activity, as well as deep sea fishing.

Guadeloupe has four offshore islands that are wonderful day or overnight trips from the mainland. Two of them are inhabited but a great escape from the crowds, visitors can feel like castaways. So you see that these islands in the Caribbean are a wonderful destination if you want a relaxing vacation.

In many of the towns and cities you’ll find hotels. Guadeloupe has a good tourist infrastructure..Hotels in Guadeloupe are situated in Basse-Terre (capital), Vieux-Fort, Trois-Rivières, Mahaut, Deshales, Ste-Rose, Anse-Bertrand, Le Moule, Ste Anne. A number of the smaller islands also have accommodation for the foreign visitor.

 Poite-à-Pitre, Basse-Terre and many other smaller towns are excellent for shopping. Dominicans and Haitians often sell  their typical handicrafts at markets. Crystal, porcelain and perfumes from France can also be bought there..
