Carry more Luggage with Car Top Carriers.

When they are moving or going on holiday, many people use a fantastic way to carry extra luggage in car top carriers. These devices double the amount of space you have in your trunk by letting you store some of the larger articles and luggage on the roof of the car. There are many different types of car top carriers from roof racks to enclosed box type carriers. Some travellers prefer a waterproof, soft sided carrier over the older hard top carriers. These carriers are made form 100% waterproof vinyl that is guaranteed to be leak proof as well. The sides collapse so there is no danger of scratching or denting the roof of the car. 

When it comes to choosing car to carriers, you have to consider how much space you need. When you decide how much room you need, it is better to go a little larger than what you need. Depending on the type you choose, you may or may not need to have a roof rack already installed. Many of the newer carriers on the market do not need anything other than the hardware that is included in the price. They are very easy to install and you do not need to have expensive tools or bring the car into a garage to have the work done. 

If you like the style of the car top carriers that are shaped like a box better than the collapsible styles, make sure that the one you choose is made from waterproof material. If you are storing things in the carrier where it doesn’t matter whether or not they get wet, then this doesn’t really matter.

Regulations Regarding International Car Shipping

There are many companies that will ship your vehicle to a destination in another country even if that country is overseas. An international car shipping company usually is in the ship industry with container and freight ships at its disposal. If you cannot find a specific company on the internet there are brokers online that will research companies for you and get quotes for you so that you can compare prices. You do need to know that the rates for international car shipping are much higher than if you were just having the car shipped across the country. 

The regulations regarding international car shipping  are a bit stricter than those required for shipping within a country. All cars must be in good working order before they can be loaded for transport. If a car is inoperable, it will remain on the loading docks until it is working and you will be charged for storage for that length of time. Only factory installed equipment can be on the car, they must not contain any personal items and the keys must be left with the car. No reservations are permitted and loading is on a first-come, first served basis. Companies are on a strict schedule and will only accept cars that are there when the ship is ready to leave.  

The standard insurance international car shipping companies have is for approximately $10,000 while the car is on the ship. If you need insurance above that amount, you have to purchase it yourself. Although your car is not exposed to the elements, it is stored below deck on a roll on/roll off ship – similar to that on ferries. Because the ship has to go through customs when it arrives in another country, you have to have proof that you own the vehicle and full payment is required in advance. If you owe any money on the vehicle, such as a bank loan, you also have to provide a letter of permission from the lender that you are allowed to ship the vehicle.
