When you need to look for automobile shipping companies, the first question that you have to ask is, “What is the cost?” In order to give you an informed answer the company will need to know the destination of the automobile, where you want them to pick it up and drop it off, if you have a specified date of delivery and how you want the automobile shipped. All of these will factor into the automobile shipping costs. The destination of the car is the most important factor in the price because the farther away it is, the more it will cost. If you can deliver the automobile to the company and pick it up at a terminal, it will cost less than having them do door-to-door pick up and delivery. If you want the automobile shipped in an enclosed container, this will raise the price as well. 

To get the cheapest price, you should get quotes from several companies and do a comparison of the services included in the price. There is no cost to receiving a quote and if you do an online search, you can request a quote on the company website. You do need to ask for the total cost to avoid having any hidden fees charged to the bill that you were not aware of. Some companies may require a deposit, while others require full payment up front. None of the companies will allow you to pay the total bill when the automobile is delivered. 

The choice of having the automobile shipped in an open or enclosed container will also depend on whether or not the automobile shipping company has varieties of both types of trailers. There are many types of open trailers ranging from those that carry only two or three cars to those that can carry up to eleven cars. The automobile is not protected from the weather, whereas in an enclosed trailer it is completely protected from the wind and precipitation. The company has to have an insurance policy in the event that your automobile gets damaged or stolen. This is something you really have to ask about because if the company doesn’t have such a policy, you should avoid using the service, no matter how cheap it is.
