Kenya wildlife safaris in a world of natural wonders.

The word "safari" was invented in Kenya where in Kiswahili it means "journey". Kenya wildlife safaris are famous for the country's boundless wilderness  and big game and has long attracted adventure seekers from all over the globe. Some of the first adventure travel tours in Africa were trips to and in this beautiful country.  Kenya wildlife safaris will introduce you to the home of an endless array of ecosystems, the staging ground for natural cycles of life, death and regeneration as old as this planet itself.

This country, being a world of natural wonders and having an almost endless variety of ecosystems and animal habitats has a lot to offer to people who want to feel a close connection with nature in its most pristine state. Kenya safaris take you to its abundant birdlife, the breath taking migratory herds in its vast plains, its pulsating rainforests and its wonderful Indian Ocean beaches. Because this great range of natural habitats there is plenty to explore on Kenya wildlife safaris and plenty of species will be encountered.

The country has 59 national parks and game reserves. It is home to the black rhino, the sea turtle, the Grevy's zebra, the sitatunga and the wild dog. Packing The Right Safari Clothing.

 If you are planning a safari, clothing is a quite important factor. It is advised to  wear no blue clothes, because blue attracts the Tsetse fly. Its bite is painful and can inflict dengue fever, a form of sleeping sickness. In some areas you are not allowed to wear camouflage clothing if you're not a member of the country's military. You could be arrested for this on your safari, so clothing, as you can see, is something to think about.

The best safari clothing is simple, layered and of a neutral color like green, khaki or olive. Long sleeved shirts are ideal as it can be cool in the morning  and as it warms up you can roll up the sleeves. Long pants protect you from  thorns and also from mosquitoes and ticks. An extra sweater and a warm jacket can be useful for those cold mornings. You will also need a hat for protection from the sun.

Safari hats are actually a type of Fedora hats. If you flip the back of the brim up, you get a Fedora hat. In other words: safari hats are just Fedora hats with the brim turned down. This style became so popular that manufacturers began to make these hats specifically with the whole brim turned down.

Safari hats are available in an array of crown blocks and brim lengths. Generally they have a center dent crown, or a tear drop crown. They usually have a brim length between 2 1/2 " an 3", and are available in fur felt, wool felt, straw, leather and canvas. You can find them in different styles.

Safari hats are very useful when you're on an African safari to protect you from the sun or keep the rain off your face. They also protect your head from the branches while stalking.

Other miscellaneous safari clothing include a belt, underwear, casual clothing for the evenings or for side trips, comfortable boots or walking shoes and socks and a lightweight waterproof jacket. Make sure your walking shoes are well worn in prior to arrival. Blisters can ruin a trip.
